Red sand, the first dunes of the Kalahari, and the characteristic tree savanna form a picture-perfect African landscape. You can often spot your first animals on the way to the lodge. Giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras move through this transition zone between the hardveld and the sand dunes of the Kalahari.   <\/p>\n<p>The complex is located in a dry lake (vlei), which sometimes fills into a shallow lake during the rainy season.
