Frog Cave Excursion

Day Trips to the Highlights of the Erongo Region

In the Erongo, no path simply leads from A to B. The excursions take you through diverse landscapes—across open plains, along rock formations, and to places that only reveal themselves once you arrive.

Vast plains alternate with dense clusters of granite boulders. At times, the view opens up across the landscape; at others, it focuses on the rock itself—on lines, textures, and traces formed over eons or left by ancient cultures.

Some paths lead to viewpoints with sweeping vistas, others deep into rocky terrain, to caves, or between massive granite formations. Each excursion has a different focus—sometimes the landscape, sometimes history, and sometimes the simple experience of moving through the rocks.

Frog Cave Excursion

Frog Cave Excursion

An excursion where the journey itself is part of the experience. The drive takes you through the rocky Erongo landscape, past granite formations and open plains, to a remote starting point.

From there, you continue on foot between rocks and over uneven terrain. Step by step, the surroundings change until the Frog Cave finally opens up—a sheltered spot in the rock with walls covered in thousands-of-years-old rock paintings.

Ondili Lodges, Regions, and Experiences

Each Ondili Lodge is inextricably linked to its surroundings—and that is exactly where the local experiences come from. What guests can do here isn't just based on a fixed program, but arises from the landscape itself.

Every region reveals different facets of Namibia: sometimes the focus is on the wildlife, sometimes on the vastness of the landscape or exploring on foot. The lodges embrace these unique features.

This creates an interplay of location, accommodation, and activity that makes each region uniquely experienceable – and invites you to discover Namibia from different perspectives.
