Namibia with Ondili: Traveling through Deserts and Savannas

Ondili in Namibia

Ondili Lodges are located at Namibia’s most popular tourist destinations. The UNESCO World Natural Heritage Namib Sand Sea with the world’s highest dunes and Sossusvlei, the Erongo Mountains, the Kalahari, and Damaraland with its desert elephants are all part of a trip to Namibia. The capital Windhoek and the coastal town of Swakopmund are must-sees, and of course, the wildlife-rich Etosha National Park is a Namibia essential.

In some regions, the lodges are situated within nature reserves, allowing for an intensive experience of the typical landscape.

Nature and Species Conservation with Ondili

Nature and species conservation are among Ondili’s fundamental guiding principles. The company’s founder has made an extraordinary promise:

“For every guest room at an Ondili Lodge, I am creating 1,000 ha of new nature reserve in Namibia – protected, maintained, and preserved for future generations.”

This promise has been fully fulfilled and continues into the future. Furthermore, since the company was founded, all of Ondili’s distributable profits have flowed into nature and species conservation measures.

The local population also benefits directly from this commitment: for every three jobs in tourism, an additional job is created in the nature reserves.

Discover Namibia Actively

The activities are as diverse as the landscapes that the Ondili Lodges call home – and they reflect their character.

Early morning game drives and evening sundowner tours are just as much a part of the experience as hikes, desert horseback rides, or mountain biking on wide tracks. Full-day safaris to the surrounding national parks and multi-day tours with overnight stays in tented camps also provide intensive insights into the region.

What Our Guests Say

Etosha Oberland Lodge exceeded all our expectations! The location is simply perfect – just a few minutes from the Anderson Gate of Etosha National Park and yet in the middle of nature, quiet and secluded. The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious, very clean, and furnished with great attention to detail. We were particularly impressed by the private terrace with a view of the bush – we could watch zebras, kudus, and warthogs there every morning.

Giada M.

Luxurious lodge located directly near the eastern entrance to Etosha National Park with sensationally beautiful rooms and extraordinary views. One of the best lodges on our Namibia trip.

Claudia W.

If you are looking for a lodge at the central southern entrance of Etosha National Park that is not dedicated to mass tourism and offers a high-quality value ratio, you will definitely reach your goal at this lodge. We at Leaflove Safari are happy to recommend this lodge to our discerning guests with a clear conscience.

Albert Voigts

Perfect stay, everything we enjoyed was of the best quality. The accommodation was very spacious, which was a welcome relief after 6 nights of camping with several thunderstorms. The kitchen offered us a culinary delight of the highest quality every evening. The staff was very friendly and highly attentive. Thanks to the whole team. The location to Etosha National Park, about 20 km to Ombika, is excellent.

Wolfgang Menneke

It was the details. Welcome at the entrance, a fresh tea and a damp, cold towel. Questions about food intolerances. And above all… the fantastic staff! The lodge was stunning. There are many animals to see at the waterhole.
