Sundowner Drive Namib

Open-Vehicle Drives

In the afternoons, Ondili lodges offer open-vehicle drives. An experienced guide will show you the unique features of each region and share interesting facts about nature. Wildlife sightings are highly likely, and the driver will certainly know the best spot for a sundowner. You’ll return to the lodge in time for dinner.

Sundowner Drive Namib

Sundowner Drive Namib

A game drive in an open off-road vehicle takes you into the Namib Tsaris Nature Reserve in the late afternoon. The route follows a dry riverbed that, when flowing, leads directly to Sossusvlei. Oryx and springboks are frequently seen, and with a bit of luck, predators too. On a small mountain fringed with red sand, the moment of the day is celebrated as the sun sets behind the Sossusvlei dunes.

What Our Guests Say

Do you want a dream vacation? Then come here. There’s nothing you’d miss here. It starts with the reception, continues through the 75 m² tented apartment, the excellent service, the best pool of all 10 lodges we stayed at on this trip, very fine food, excellent service, and very friendly staff. Waterhole directly in front of the lodge. During dinner, rhinos came by, numerous zebras, wildebeest, klipspringers, impalas, etc. Definitely do the game drive, Alloys is a very good guide.

If you are looking for a lodge at the central southern entrance of Etosha National Park that is not dedicated to mass tourism and offers a high-quality value ratio, you will definitely reach your goal at this lodge. We at Leaflove Safari are happy to recommend this lodge to our discerning guests with a clear conscience.

Perfect stay, everything we enjoyed was of the best quality. Accommodation was very spacious, which was a blessing after 6 nights of camping with some thunderstorms. The kitchen offered us a culinary delight of the highest quality every evening. It was a great pleasure to enjoy our stay at the newest Ondili Lodge (without prior booking). The staff was very friendly and highly attentive. Dankie to the whole team. The location to Etosha National Park is very, very good, about 20 km to Ombika.

It was the details. Welcome at the entrance, a fresh tea and a damp, cold towel. Questions about food intolerances. And above all… the fantastic staff. The lodge was stunning. There are many animals to see at the waterhole.

What a great lodge just before the Anderson Gate. If I could, I would give even more stars. Everything is just right here. Extremely courteous service and great food. The lodge equipment is very high quality. Reasonable price-performance ratio. A morning game drive is also recommended. Thank you, Chamberlain!
