Morning Scenic Drive Kalahari

Exploring in the first light of day

In the early morning hours, we head out into the landscape when the air is still cool and nature slowly awakens. The light is clear, shadows lie flat across the ground, making structures and tracks clearly visible.

The drives lead through the respective reserve surrounding the lodge. With a bit of luck, you might spot animals that are active in the cool hours and take advantage of the open, tranquil environment.

As the light increases, the landscape changes step by step – colors become brighter, movements increase, and the day noticeably begins.

Morning Drive in the Kalahari Dunes

Morning Drive in the Kalahari Dunes

With the first rays of sun, the drive leads out into the dune landscape. In the still untouched sand, tracks become visible, telling tales of the night – fine lines, footprints, and movements stretching across the surface.

The low light gently highlights the shapes of the dunes, while movement gradually appears in the landscape. Animals become active, crossing the open areas or remaining near their nocturnal paths.

A peaceful start to the day in a landscape that changes with every moment.

Ondili Lodges, Regions, and Experiences

Each Ondili Lodge is inextricably linked to its surroundings—and that is exactly where the local experiences come from. What guests can do here isn't just based on a fixed program, but arises from the landscape itself.

Every region reveals different facets of Namibia: sometimes the focus is on the wildlife, sometimes on the vastness of the landscape or exploring on foot. The lodges embrace these unique features.

This creates an interplay of location, accommodation, and activity that makes each region uniquely experienceable – and invites you to discover Namibia from different perspectives.

What Our Guests Say

Do you want a dream vacation? Then come here. There’s nothing you’d miss. It starts with the reception, continues to the 75 m² tent apartment, the excellent service, the best pool of all 10 lodges we had on this trip, very fine food, excellent service, and very friendly staff. Waterhole directly in front of the lodge. During dinner, rhinos came, numerous zebras, wildebeest, steenboks, impalas, etc. Definitely do the game drive, Alloys is a very good guide.

If you are looking for a lodge at the central south entrance of Etosha National Park that avoids mass tourism and offers high-quality value, this lodge is definitely the right choice. We at Leaflove Safari gladly recommend this lodge to our discerning guests with a clear conscience.

Perfect stay, everything we enjoyed was of the highest quality. Accommodation was very spacious, which was a blessing after 6 nights of camping with some thunderstorms. The kitchen offered us a culinary delight of the highest quality every evening. It was a great pleasure to enjoy the stay at the newest Ondili Lodge (without reservation). The staff was very friendly and highly attentive. Thank you to the whole team. The location to Etosha National Park is excellent, about 20 km to Ombika.

It was the details. Welcome at the entrance, a fresh tea and a damp, cold cloth. The questions about food intolerances. And above all… the fantastic staff. The lodge was stunning. There are many animals to see at the waterhole.

What a great lodge just before Anderson Gate. If I could, I would give even more stars. Everything here is just perfect. Extremely courteous service and great food. The lodge’s furnishings are very high quality. Appropriate value for money. A morning game drive is also highly recommended. Many thanks, Chamberlain!
