The Greater Sossusvlei Area is one of Namibia’s most impressive landscapes, characterized by the famous red dunes of the Namib Desert, ancient salt pans like Deadvlei, and a fascinating vastness that uniquely combines tranquility, pristine nature, and raw natural power.

Sossusvlei Excursion

Early in the morning, after an early-bird breakfast at the lodge, guests drive in air-conditioned 4×4 vehicles into the national park and continue through sandy off-road passages to Deadvlei and Sossusvlei. The famous dunes can be climbed, or one can simply soak in the beauty of this desert.

The guides share a lot of interesting facts about desert life, and there’s a lovely picnic in the park. On the way back, Sesriem Canyon is always worth a detour. You’ll be back at the lodge by early afternoon.
